Rhinoderma darwinii
Hi
miss and classmates i hope you are well, today i am going to talk about ranita
de Darwin. I
really didn't know that this variety existed, the other time I discovered board
games related to plants and I found it very interesting.
in the
first half of the century, Charles Darwin traveled through different parts of
Chile conducting research as a naturalist. Near the Lemuy Islands, Charles
Darwin met a small creature that was eventually named Rhinoderma darwinii. This frog
lives in the temperate forests of southern South America, specifically between
Chile and Argentina. It has a small body that usually does not exceed three
centimeters in length, and specimens have been found in places covered by snow
during the winter months.
Its color
varies from bright greenish to dark brown, its shape resembles that of a leaf
(which is why I find it very interesting), it feeds on small bugs, it is very
skittish and difficult to spot. This species is in a vulnerable conservation
status, mainly due to habitat loss, like many other amphibians in Chile,
degradation mainly due to agriculture and livestock has caused great damage in
the loss of different species.
I wanted to
tell you a little bit about this beautiful animal, which I find very
interesting and mysterious (because of the difficulty of observation), I hope
you found it as interesting as I did and that you will be encouraged to look
for more about them.

I can't with the name, it's sooo cute hahaha, but you're right, it's a very interesting species and we should study it more considering it's endangered..
